Between Our Four Walls

We are Garrett and Cindy McMullin, a physical therapy assistant and Realtor by trade. We have been married for 6 years and have four children (you do the math).
We moved six months ago and had a baby 5 months ago. We will most definitely write a post about our last house. It was quirky, old and an absolute dream. Cindy has described our new house and new neighborhood as a gift. We love the established neighborhood, the newer (than our 70 year old last) house, and that we could move in and not NEED to update a thing. However, as far too many of us have experienced, when you move into a home, Murphy usually moves with you - we have a list of purely maintenance to dos already. On top of that, we find ourselves constantly dreaming about how to reconfigure closets or replace doors or where to add wainscoting and what hallway could we add this fun wallpaper. We've recently realized that even though we don’t need to renovate, there is so much fun that we want to have designing and building just because that's what we enjoy. Some projects are already in the works while others are a long way off.
So here we are – four kids deep, six months into a house that we never wanted to update, and asking you to follow along on this journey. We want to record the bigger projects just for fun and in hopes that it will inspire you to try something new, bold, and maybe even do it yourself! We are also wanting to document the little honey do’s, the things that might seem overwhelming or like you have to put off because you need to wait to hire a professional. While we recognize that there is absolutely a time and place for professionals, we are also well aware that we come from a generation that had no shop or home economics class. We want to empower and maybe even teach you to take care of your own home!
C.S. Lewis once said,
“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: 'What! You too? I thought I was the only one.”
As we share our moments with you, we hope you can see that we all have oven door handles that break, spaces that don’t make sense, books that have no bookcase, and outlets that go out. We’ll share what we put on the walls and what happens between them. We’ll cook, we’ll dream, we’ll make, we’ll learn, we’ll mourn and we’ll celebrate. Together.

From our heart and home,
Garrett and Cindy
Thank you for opening your home to learn the joys plus the unforeseen happenings of home life. Looking forward to following “from our home and heart”. 🏡❤️Great quote from C.S. Lewis.
